Freeway is a drive time generator which can be used to produce polygons representing the area which can be driven from a specified point within a specified amount of time under specific traffic conditions either one at a time or for an entire dBase table. It can also be used for point-to-point drive times between a single origin an single destination point. Finally, it can produce tables between a set of one or more origins and a set of one or more destinations.

Freeway uses a precompiled grid environment that is a compressed representation of the Tiger street file system. A detailed grid (approximately 500 feet in size) is used for drive time up to 30 minutes while a generalized grid (approximately 1/2 mile in size) is used for larger drive times. It is possible to force Freeway to use a specific grid size for any particular problem.

More Info

Like Freeway DriveTime for US, Freeway DriveTime for Canada is a drive time generator which can be used to produce a wide assortment of maps and data. Freeway can create polygons for an entire dBase table, or representing the area which can be driven from a specified point within a specified amount of time under specific traffic conditions either one at a time. It can also be used for point-to-point drive times between a single origin an single destination point in Canada. Finally, it can produce tables between a set of one or more origins and a set of one or more destinations.

More Info

MapInfo DriveTime Module US is a premier software module for creating drive-time polygons around any location. DriveTime provides a supplement to stand-alone mapping systems, integrated marketing systems, or vertical market applications in which distance is more appropriately expressed in terms of travel time. This method is preferred in many cases to standard straight-line, radius, and network distance calculations.

DriveTime creates a polygon for the area that can be covered over the road network in a specified period of time, given certain traffic conditions. The polygon can then be used within a mapping environment or within a spatial retrieval engine to extract demographics, facility locations, traffic counts and other geographic data.

DriveTime's system uses a highly schematic and compressed street network file. Road linkages have been classified into four categories, according to type and location of the road. Maximum speeds can be set independently for each type of road.

Disaggregator - Disaggregate or aggregate data variables to different levels of geographic resolution
Site Summerizer - Spatially summarizes your data for reporting within MapInfo Professional

Map-O-Matic is a MapInfo Professional plug-in that facilitates batch map generation using preformatted workspaces. Produce as many similar-themed maps as you need by clicking one button available on the MapInfo Tools toolbar and setting options in a 2-step wizard.

"Map-O-Matic" is a MapBasic application that enables batch processing and production of maps within MapInfo Professional. Batch maps can be produced for any/all individual objects in a MapInfo table or by grouping different objects using a field value. Map titles can be generated from a column in the table Scale bars and north arrows are also available for each map. The maps can be printed or saved as WMF, BMP, JPG or PDF files. Separate MapInfo workspaces can also be saved for each map.

The Challenge
Understanding the geographic distribution of your customers provides a valuable mechanism for defining trade areas, understanding your target demographic profile, evaluating site suitability, quantifying trade area overlap, and delineating market opportunities.

The Problem
Mapping customer locations using simple point displays or standard thematic maps based on census geography does not provide an accurate or realistic indication of the characteristics or extent of trade areas.

The Solution
TrendMap allows you to:

TrendMap works directly with your georeferenced customer data and imports MapInfo .TAB, .DBF, .XLS, .MDB, Lotus(wk*), .mdb, paradox(DB), FoxPro(DBF), .TXT, and ASCII format files.

TrendMap output format options include MapInfo .TAB and .MID/.MIF, ArcView .SHP, and Atlas .BNA format files.

TrendMap uses a proprietary spatial filtering algorithm developed specifically to address trade area definition using customer based point-of-sale data.

TrendMap is available as a standalone MapInfo or ArcGIS compatible program, or as an OCX for application developers and runs under Windows 9x/NT/2000.

The Challenge:
Mapping your target market, identifying pockets of your customer profile, or evaluating site suitabilty often requires evaluating a number of demographic variables.

Commonly this evaluation is performed by mapping each of the variables, and manually overlaying the results or by combining the variables mathematically using database management or spreadsheet packages.

The process can be time consuming, and to-date, there was no easy way to iteratively evaluate and rapidly visualize the results of the analysis.

The Solution:
Spatial Insights Data Indexing application was developed in response to client driven projects that required the evaluation of multiple demographic variables to identify and map target markets and preferred customer profiles.

With Spatial Insights Data Indexing application for MapInfo, users can independently weight and rank up to 30 variables to create composite index scores in one operation.

Data Indexing allows you to:

Data Indexing runs directly within MapInfo Professional.

The Challenge:
Understanding the geographic relationships between store and customer locations can provide a valuable mechanism for determining store patronage distance decay factors, for delineating the primary trade area, and for determining the nth closest customers to a particular store location. Commonly this evaluation is performed by mapping both the store and customer locations, and measuring the distance to each customer for a given store. The process can be time consuming, and to-date, there was no easy way to rapidly evaluate proximity relationships between two different point data sets.

The Solution:
Spatial Insights Point2Point application was developed in response to client driven projects that required the determination of geographic relationships between stores and customer locations.

Using Point2Point, users can rapidly determine which customers fall within a specified distance to a store, or model the distance from the store to all customers. Point2Point also ranks each destination location according to its' distance from the store, and calculates a cumulative percentile to facilitate primary trade area definition and analyses.

Point2Point allows you to:

Point2Point works directly with your georeferenced .DBF files, the output is compatible with all desktop mapping and GIS systems and runs under Windows 95/98/NT/2000.

The Challenge:
Geographic information used in mapping applications is often only available at certain levels of geographic resolution. The process of aggregating or disaggregating variables from one level to another is required prior to evaluating correlations in support of trade area analysis and demographic profiling applications. Traditionally, this is a difficult and time consuming process.

The Solution:
Spatial Insight's Disaggregater application was developed in response to customer driven project requirements. The Disaggregater is a MapBasic application, which runs entirely within MapInfo. It enables data from coarse levels of geographic resolution, such as county, to be disaggregated, or apportioned, to areas that have finer geographic resolution, such as block groups. Similarly, the Disaggregater enables data from finer levels of resolution, such as block group level demographics, to be aggregated, or recombined, to lower levels of geographic resolution, such as county or ZIP Code.

The Disaggregater:

Spatial Insights' Disaggregater was designed for MapInfo professionals involved with database development, market research, trade area analysis, and demographic profiling studies.

Data Source Technology, Inc. has developed a software application called Site Summarizer. This application simplifies the process of building new site tables in MapInfo. It also enables the user to easily aggregate appropriate information from a separate table of points containing demographic information. It automatically populates the new site table with these aggregated statistics.

This application will assist the user in creating a new site location table based on:

The application will provide the user (or a system administrator) a dialog box that will enable them to select the methods of aggregation for each field in their demographic or custom data table. This setup process need only be done once (provided there are no changes made to the fields in the basic data table.)

The application will also enable the user to print out the aggregated site information.
